City Wide announced today it has once again been named to Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500® list, considered the world’s first, best and most comprehensive franchise ranking. It has continued to climb in the ranks of this list for more than a decade.

The recognition received by City Wide highlights the achievements made by the company in 2019. The opening of seven locations last year brings the brand’s total number of locations to 61 across the Unites States and Canada. It also generated more than $300,000,000 in systemwide revenue, a more than $50,000,000 increase from 2018.

“Being recognized by Entrepreneur with this ranking is a strong way to kick off 2020,” said Jeff Oddo, CEO of City Wide Franchise. “2019 was another great year of growth for us and we are well on our way to achieving the 10-year goal we have set for ourselves. This acknowledgment by Entrepreneur continues to prove we’re taking the right steps to be leaders in our industry.”

The key factors that go into the evaluation include costs and fees, size and growth, support, brand strength, and financial strength and stability. Each franchise is given a cumulative score based on an analysis of more than 150 data points, and the 500 franchises with the highest cumulative scores become the Franchise 500® in ranking order.

“The 500 companies on this list all have something in common: They understand what consumers want now,” says Jason Feifer, editor in chief of Entrepreneur. “They may be an upstart in a brand-new category, or they may be a brand like Dunkin’ that’s ranked highly on our list for decades. But either way, making our list means they’re forward-thinking, nimble, and closely in touch with their customers’ needs—because in an ever-changing business environment, that’s what a franchise must do to thrive.”

City Wide has made a name for itself in major U.S. cities by streamlining commercial facilities and maintenance management of more than 20-plus interior and exterior services including janitorial, handyman services and parking lot maintenance. Taking the onus from building owners and property management businesses that typically have to choose separate companies for each task, City Wide eases the selection and management processes for its clients.

Entrepreneurially spirited individuals interested in owning a City Wide franchise should have the ability to invest $200,000, which includes working capital and a typical franchise fee of $55,000.

Over its 41 years in existence, the Franchise 500® has become both a dominant competitive measure for franchisors and a primary research tool for potential franchisees. City Wide’s position on the ranking is a testament to its strength as a franchise opportunity.
